TARTAN DAY PARADE APRIL 6, 2006
Eduardo Macrae marching as the Grand Marshall of the Tartan Day Parade that took place on April 8, 2006 at Madero Port in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Scottish Argentines remembered their heritage with the participation of the Buenos Aires Scottish Guard, a group that re-enacts the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of 1900. The Buenos Aires Scottish Club and the Highland Heritage Society also paraded and an invited Galician pipe band, the Banda de Gaitas Ciuad de Buenos Aires.
At 2:30 p.m. the marchers stepped off from the Yacht Club Puerto Madero and marched around Dock 4 for 16 blocks. The Scottish Immigration was remembered next to Cecilia Grierson bridge and a bouquet of flowers was thrown into the water in the area where the Symmetry frigate that brought the immigrants docked.
